The mirror heating film is a 1 mm thick carbon heating film bonded to the back of bathroom, hotel, spa and hammam mirrors, warming the glass surface to prevent fogging after a shower. It is made with FilmMax carbon film technology, delivers 200 W/m², raises the mirror surface to as much as 45 °C and stops moisture condensing on the glass. Mirror film is not a separate material: it is cut from the same roll of carbon heating film, in that film's 50, 80 and 100 cm widths and at its 25 cm cutting points — which is why its output is also 200 W/m². It needs no thermostat: it is wired to the bathroom lighting circuit and comes on when you switch the light on. It is cut to 23 ready sizes formed from three widths and eight lengths; bulk and custom-size production is available for hotel projects.
Fogging occurs when the temperature of the glass surface drops below the dew point of the air in the room. In the shower the bathroom air warms and approaches saturation with vapour, while the mirror stays at the temperature of the wall behind it and remains colder than the air. The moment that humid air meets the cold glass it gives up its excess vapour: countless droplets too small to see individually form on the glass and scatter light instead of reflecting it — which is why the mirror looks matt.

- Your mirror fogs after every shower and you do not want to wipe it or spray it.
- Your mirror has a flat surface: framed, frameless, wall-mounted or on a cabinet — it makes no difference.
- You can reach the back of the mirror — it can be taken down, or you can reach in from the edge.
- You are building a new bathroom, villa hammam or hotel project; bonding before the mirror is installed is easiest.
- You do not want a separate switch and thermostat; running with the light is enough.

- The back of your mirror is enclosed and cannot be removed — the film is bonded to the glass from behind, so it cannot be fitted without access.
- Your aim is to heat the bathroom — this is not a room heater; for the floor, a cabled bathroom floor heating system is the right product.
- Your mirror is curved or bevelled — the film is designed to bond to a flat surface.
- You are unsure of your dimensions — because it is cut to order, it is not covered by the 30-day return right.
- You expect absolute clarity right to the edge — where the film sits more than 12 cm inside the glass, the outer strip may stay fogged.
التركيب
You can do the bonding yourself, but not the electrical connection. Bonding the film to the back of the mirror needs no tools and takes 10–15 minutes in total; the mains connection is work for a qualified electrician.
Note: The film is only mounted behind a mirror; do not expose it to a direct heat source or sunlight, do not use film larger than the mirror, and do not attempt to cut it. Retrofitting to an existing mirror is possible — taking the mirror down is easiest, and if it cannot be removed, you can reach in from the bottom or top edge.

Does the mirror heating film really keep the mirror fog-free?
Yes, the area covered by the film will not fog. The film warms the glass and raises the surface temperature to as much as 45 °C; water vapour cannot condense on a surface above the dew point. Areas not covered will continue to fog, which is why the size should be chosen close to the mirror size.
How much electricity does it use?
Consumption depends on size and is found from area × 200 W/m². The most commonly chosen 80 × 50 cm size is 0.4 m², draws 80 W and uses 0.08 kWh an hour; at 2 hours a day that comes to 4.8 kWh a month. The smallest size draws 25 W, the largest 400 W. With the bathroom light off, the film does not run at all.
Is a thermostat needed?
No. The film is wired to the bathroom lighting circuit: it runs when you switch the light on and stops when you switch it off. No separate thermostat or control unit is needed. If you prefer, it can also be wired to an independent switch or a different circuit.
How do I choose the right size?
Measure the width and length of your mirror and round both down: for width take the next size below 50, 80 or 100 cm, and for length the next multiple of 25 cm below your measurement. The film should sit 5–10 cm inside the mirror edges; if it sits more than 12 cm inside, it will not clear the edge fogging.
Is it safe to use an electrical product in a bathroom?
The film is fully insulated, carries 100% earth protection through an aluminium-wrapped copper braid, is limited to a 45 °C surface temperature and operates in the dry cavity behind the mirror. The supply circuit must be protected by a residual current device and the earth conductor must be connected; the connection must be made by a qualified electrician.
