Snow and ice melting cables are electric heating cables laid beneath the ground or a metal surface to prevent snow build-up and ice formation. They work on surfaces that become unusable when frozen — ramps, courtyards, footpaths, asphalt roads and railway track. The concrete curing cable in the same family allows concrete poured in winter conditions to set without freezing.

TMaxPro — single-conductor

The standard solution for snow melting under concrete

It has a 3 m cold lead at each end; both the start and the end of the cable must return to the control panel. The most economical option if you can plan the route as a loop.

T2MaxPro — twin-conductor

Fed from a single point; the cable end comes sealed

There is a cold lead at one end only; the other end is terminated at the factory. This simplifies installation on routes where returning to the control panel from the end of the cable would be difficult.

Under asphalt

Built to withstand hot asphalt paving

It consists of a silicone-coated heating cable, a copper braid and an XLPE outer sheath; it has mechanical protection and earthing. Because hot asphalt is laid directly over it, a standard cable is not used here.

Concrete curing

Allows concrete poured in winter to set without freezing

An economical single-use cable designed for pouring and curing in cold climates. It is not a permanent system: once the concrete has set, the cable stays inside and its job is done.

Railway track frost protection

Silicone parallel cable applied to the rail surface and to the points

Made with a silicone outer sheath rated to 250 °C and a metal braid; it has an integral cold lead, so no separate connection kit is required. It is manufactured to project-specific ratings.

مناسب عندما

  • You want to prevent snow and ice build-up on a ramp, courtyard, footpath or garage entrance.
  • You are building the surface new, or lifting and renewing the covering — the cable is buried beneath the surface.
  • Your area is a non-standard size and you want to set the route yourself.
  • You will run heating beneath hot asphalt paving.
  • You will pour concrete in winter conditions and the pour has to set without freezing.

غير مناسب عندما

  • If you would rather not deal with working out the cable length required and laying it, a ready-made mat is more practical: ramp wheel-track heating, or stair and building entrance heating.
  • For floor heating inside a room you need a floor heating cable.
  • Icing on roofs, valleys and gutters calls for a different installation: roof gutter and valley heating.
  • Frost protection of pipes and valves uses heat tracing cable.
  • If you are looking for a solution laid over the existing covering without lifting the floor, a buried cable is not suitable.

التركيب

The cable is laid beneath the surface to be heated and fixed along its route. The laying spacing is determined by the target power density; the cables must not touch or cross one another at any point. Observe the minimum bending diameter — 42 mm for TMaxPro and T2MaxPro. Plan in advance the route by which the cold leads will reach the control panel.

A controller is essential: These cables are not designed to be connected directly to the mains and run continuously. Snow and ice melting uses a unit that evaluates a temperature sensor and a moisture sensor together; heating switches on only when the air is cold and there is precipitation on the surface. الضمان والدعم

According to manufacturer data, TMaxPro and T2MaxPro carry a 10-year manufacturer warranty, and the under-asphalt, concrete curing and railway track cables a 2-year one. The warranty covers faults arising from manufacture and materials; cables crushed, punctured or bent below the minimum bending diameter during laying, runs energised in free air, and cables cut on site fall outside its scope. Is the price per metre or for the total?
Per metre. You enter the number of metres you need in the quantity field: for 40 m of T2MaxPro you enter 40, and the total is calculated accordingly.
Can I cut the cable to length on site?
No. The TMaxPro, T2MaxPro, under-asphalt and concrete curing cables are series-resistance cables; cutting them alters the resistance and the power rating. They are cut to the ordered length and terminated at the factory. The only exception is the railway track cable, which according to manufacturer data may be cut before application.
How does the difference between single-conductor and twin-conductor affect installation?
Both ends of the TMaxPro must return to the control panel, so you plan the route to come back to the point where you started. The T2MaxPro is fed from a single point and its other end is sealed; your work ends where the cable ends.
Should I buy a ready-made mat or cable?
If your area has a regular geometry, a mat is quicker: ramp wheel-track heating, or stair and building entrance heating. If the area is irregular, cable is more flexible.
Can I use the concrete curing cable for snow melting afterwards?
No. It is a temporary, single-use product; it stays inside once the concrete has hardened. For permanent snow melting, TMaxPro or T2MaxPro is used.
