Überblick

The canister heating jacket is a flexible electric heating wrap that encloses a 120 litre canister from the outside, rated at 800 W and adjustable from 0 to 90 °C with a digital thermostat. It stops the liquid inside freezing, solidifying or thickening to the point where it can no longer be pumped; it is used with chemical, food, pharmaceutical, petrochemical and paint-grade liquids. It is the mid-volume member of the drum heating family: it fills the gap between the 19 litre bucket and the 200 litre drum, and works by simply plugging in, without moving the canister.

The jacket contacts the side wall of the canister and transfers heat to the liquid by conduction. Inside there is an aluminium-layered, silicone-insulated glass fibre braid heating element, fixed to the jacket with Kevlar stitching. Outside, a purpose-made double layer of carbon insulation stops heat escaping, with a waterproof, stain-resistant polyester fabric as the outermost layer. Heating is single-zone: the whole of the 1,750 × 800 mm wrapped surface warms at once, so no hot spot forms.

Ist dies das richtige Produkt?

Passend, wenn

You hold chemicals, honey, oil, syrup, paint, varnish or pharmaceutical liquid in a 120 litre canister.
You need to stop the liquid freezing or thickening to the point where it can no longer be pumped.
Holding the temperature below 70 °C with a thermostat adjustable from 0 to 90 °C is sufficient for you.
You do not want a dedicated electrical circuit installed — a 230 V socket is enough.
The canister moves around the plant and the jacket needs to travel with it.

Nicht geeignet, wenn

You work with 19 litre buckets — the bucket heating jacket is smaller and cheaper for 19 litre pails.
You work with 200 litre drums — the drum heating jacket is a separate product for 200 litre drums.
You are heating a 1,000 litre IBC tank — the IBC tank heating jacket is made for that cubic geometry.
You are heating a cylindrical gas cylinder — the cylinder heating jacket is the right product.
You need to go above 70 °C — the drum heating cabinet works up to 120 °C.

What temperature does the canister heating jacket reach?

The control unit is adjustable from 0 to 90 °C and the jacket surface reaches 70 °C at most. The temperature the liquid reaches depends on the material, the fill level and the ambient temperature. If you need to go above 70 °C this model is not suitable; the drum heating cabinet, which heats in an enclosed space, works up to 120 °C.

How long does it take to heat 120 litres of water?

It goes from 10 °C to 50 °C in about 10 hours and uses roughly 8 kWh. The loss-free physical minimum is 5.58 kWh and 7 hours; the difference is heat escaping through the base and open top of the canister. Oils and resins heat faster, while honey and paraffin take longer because the heat of fusion has to be added.

What does it add to the electricity bill?

With one heating cycle a day, the cost is roughly 24 TRY per cycle and about 720 TRY a month. The calculation assumes 8 kWh and 3 TRY/kWh. Standby consumption after the target temperature is reached is lower than this.

Can I just plug it in, or is installation needed?

You plug it straight in; no installation is needed. The jacket runs on 230 V, has a 3-metre lead with a plug and is protection class II. Wrapping it around the canister, locking the buckle and entering the target temperature is all that is required.

Can I fit this jacket to a 200 litre drum?

No. The jacket measures 1,750 × 800 mm and is made for the circumference of a 120 litre canister; it will not fully wrap a 200 litre drum. Use the drum heating jacket for drums, the bucket heating jacket for 19 litre pails and the IBC tank heating jacket for 1,000 litre IBC tanks.
