Overview

The GardenSera High-Volume Knock-Down Hobby Greenhouse is a high-volume greenhouse structure designed for gardens and large open spaces, made from hot-dip galvanised steel or aluminium sections whose parts are bolted together on site. It is not a heating appliance — it is an enclosed volume in which a climate is created; the heating side is built up from separate products. Its high roof lets you work standing up, grow tall plants and set out shelving and propagation benches. With UV-protected polycarbonate, high-density greenhouse film or toughened glass cladding options, optional automatic ventilation and ISITMAX greenhouse heating products, it is suited to production all year round.

Where it is used

Gökkuşağı

The standard arched form, the starting point for gardens

Medium to high volume with a spacious working area. The length is chosen between 4 and 10 metres; single or double doors and optional windows can be specified. It is the most popular form in the family.

Asya

Wider footprint and a height option

A form suited to varying climates. With its expandable modular structure it is the right starting point if you plan to extend later.

Maya

The semi-professional variant of the Asya form

It carries design differences; the interior is optimised around the working layout of semi-professional growers.

Kelebek

Top-level ventilation with a side-opening leaf system

The side leaves open so the whole volume is ventilated. The choice in hot regions, in compact gardens and for growing sensitive specialist plants that need ventilation.

Orkide

A small-scale, multi-purpose model

The smallest form in the family. Specified for balcony and small garden applications; it is a different scale from the high-volume configuration on this page.

Kamelya

Orkide scale, different form factor

Suited to short-term growing projects. Used for seasonal trial plots and temporary applications.

ApplicationsTypical application
Garden productionGrowing vegetables, fruit and flowers; starting the season earlier and continuing production through winter
Aromatic and medicinal plantsYear-round cultivation of species that need controlled humidity and temperature

Is this the right product?

A good fit when

  • You want a permanent greenhouse in your garden that you can work in standing up.
  • You want to start the season earlier, close it later and produce through the winter months as well.
  • You will be growing tall plants such as cordon tomatoes and cucumbers; a high roof is a genuine requirement for you.
  • You plan to install shelving, propagation benches, an irrigation line and heating equipment inside.
  • You grow aromatic and medicinal plants, seedlings or flowers, and want to extend the modular structure if the business grows.

Not the right choice when

  • You are looking for a compact greenhouse for a balcony or small terrace — this configuration is garden scale and will not fit a confined space. In the GardenSera family, balcony scale is a separate model form.
  • You only need to overwinter a few seedlings — creating a small, controlled temperature zone is far more economical than heating a whole volume; a heated seedling and sapling bench is the right product for that.
  • You already have a greenhouse and are only looking for heating — you do not need a new structure but heating products to install inside it; the heating section below explains which one is right.
  • You are building a multi-span greenhouse at commercial production scale — work on that scale is handled project by project and is not sold as a stock product.
  • You have a site where no ground preparation is possible, or which is sloping or has not finished settling — the structure cannot be plumbed, the cladding cannot be tensioned and the joints are put under strain.

Installation

Yes, the structure is designed to be erected by yourself — but it is not a one-person job. The parts are bolted together on site following the assembly manual; no welding, cutting or bespoke fabrication is needed and standard hand tools are enough. It is, however, bulky work: lifting the sections, seating the arches and plumbing the frame call for a team of several people. An installation service can be arranged separately on request.

Ventilation balance: In an enclosed volume, humidity has to be managed as well as temperature. Closing the ventilation completely while heating increases the risk of condensation and fungal disease. Allow controlled air changes during the day in winter too; the automatic ventilation option exists so that you do not have to manage this by hand. The side-opening leaf system of the Kelebek form is the strongest answer to this need.

Frequently asked questions

What are the dimensions of the GardenSera High-Volume Knock-Down Hobby Greenhouse?
The dimensions depend on the model form you choose; on the arched Gökkuşağı form the length is selected between 4 and 10 metres. The footprint width, ridge height and door arrangement are determined by that length and the shape of the site, and are confirmed in writing in the quotation. The price on this page is for a single configuration — share the width, length and entrance orientation of your site and we will work out together which model fits.
Can I erect it myself, and how many people are needed?
Yes, the structure is bolted and knock-down; it comes with a Turkish assembly manual, needs no welding or bespoke fabrication and is erected with standard hand tools. It is, however, bulky work: lifting the sections and plumbing the frame call for a team of several people and are not safe for one person alone. An installation service can be arranged separately on request.
How do I fix the greenhouse to the ground — is a concrete foundation essential?
No, a reinforced concrete foundation is not essential — a knock-down greenhouse is fixed by one of three methods: compacted soil, a concrete plinth or a perimeter beam. Which is right depends on the slope of the site, the soil conditions and the cladding you choose; toughened glass is the heaviest cladding and puts the greatest load on the ground. In all three cases the ground must be level, settled and free draining.
Will it withstand wind and snow loads?
The frame is designed to structural calculations and made from hot-dip galvanised sections; it is not in the same class as lightweight tent-type greenhouses that last a season or two. Because snow and wind loads vary by region, the sizing is done for the installation location — tell us the province and the site before ordering.
Is planning permission needed for a knock-down greenhouse?
A knock-down greenhouse is a demountable structure and, because it may be assessed differently from a permanent building, permission may not be required in some cases. This varies with the region, the classification of the land and the size of the structure; binding information must be obtained from your local authority. Our product documentation gives no undertaking on this point.
