The industrial drum heating cabinet is a wheeled drum heating unit that encloses a single 200–220 litre drum in an insulated, closed space and heats it in a controlled way from room temperature up to 120 °C. Unlike a heating jacket it does not wrap the drum from the outside; it heats the air around the drum, so the heat reaches the body, base and shoulder at the same time. It is used to bring solidified or thickened raw material back to a pumpable consistency. The clamshell door system allows the drum to be loaded from the side without a crane or forklift.

The drum heating cabinet heats the air around the drum without touching it at all. Raw materials such as resin, adhesive, honey, mineral oil, paraffin and varnish solidify in the cold or thicken until they no longer flow; before a drum can be pumped out, stirred or dosed, the temperature has to be raised. Because the insulated body holds the heat in, the temperature stays stable and equalises across every surface of the drum — eliminating the "cold product at the bottom" problem so often seen with jacket heating.

You heat one or several drums a day and drum changeover time matters.
Your product must be at the same temperature throughout the drum; material left cold at the bottom causes problems.
There is no crane or forklift on site and the drum cannot be lowered in from above.
The cabinet needs to be moved between different points in production.
You need access to the top of the drum while heating continues (stirring, sampling, connecting a pump).

You work with a single drum occasionally — a cabinet is too much investment for that. A 200–220 litre drum heating jacket does the same job at a significantly lower cost.
Softening the sediment at the bottom of the drum is all you need — a drum heating unit is both cheaper and a portable 15 kg solution.
You run regular production with four drums or more — a single-drum cabinet becomes a bottleneck; a drum heating oven is the better choice.
You need to take your raw material above 120 °C; the upper limit of this cabinet is 120 °C.
You are heating an IBC tank or a fixed process tank; the cabinet is built for 200–220 litre drum geometry.

Монтаж

Because the drum heating cabinet is shipped fully assembled, no mechanical assembly, welding or anchoring is needed on site; the work consists of positioning the cabinet and having the electrical connection made. Since the connection is 380 V three-phase, the supply, residual current protection and earthing must be connected by a qualified electrician — this part is not a do-it-yourself job.

Why buy a drum heating cabinet instead of a heating jacket?

A jacket wraps the body of the drum from outside; the base and shoulder remain partly uncovered and the heat is not the same at every point. The industrial drum heating cabinet encloses the drum completely, heats the air around it and gives even distribution across the whole surface. If uniformity does not affect your product quality and you do not heat even one drum a day, a jacket is the more sensible spend.

What temperature does it reach?

It is adjustable between room temperature and 120 °C. The target temperature is entered on the digital controller and the unit holds that value. If you need to go above 120 °C this model is not suitable; the vertical cabinet works up to 180 °C.

How long does one drum take to heat?

A 200 litre drum full of water goes from 20 °C to 60 °C in about 5 hours. This comes from dividing the 9.3 kWh energy requirement by the effective output of the 2.5 kW rating. With raw materials of low specific heat such as oils and resins the time is shorter, and with products that melt, such as paraffin, it is longer; the time for your own raw material is calculated in the quotation.

Do I need a crane or forklift to load the drum?

No. That is precisely what the clamshell door system is for: the two leaves open to the sides and the drum goes in from the side instead of being lowered in from above. You can roll it in or use a drum trolley; changeover takes about 30 seconds.

Can I work on the drum while it is heating?

Yes. With the doors closed, the top of the drum remains outside; you can stir, take samples or connect a pump while heating continues. The outer surface of the cabinet gets hot — do not touch the areas marked "CAUTION HOT".
