Balcony, terrace and conservatory floor heating is a floor heating system that warms open or glazed floors with a 200 W/m² electric heater embedded under the screed. The shared problem is this: in all three, heat escapes many times faster than in a living room — to the outside air on a balcony, through the glass in a conservatory. The heater is either TMax cable clipped into fixing strip or EasyMat matting with the cable pre-laid on tape; both use the same cable and cost the same. The product is prepared for areas between 2 and 24 m² and belongs to the HomeMax family.
In conservatory floor heating, 200 W/m² is the rating chosen for spaces where heat loss through the floor is higher than indoors; the rating follows from the space, it is not a customer choice. In a room the neighbouring spaces are warm; on a balcony the edge of the floor faces outside air, and in a conservatory the facade is glass, which lets heat through easily.
TMax cable + fixing strip Clipped into the lugs of plastic strip fixed to the floor and laid at roughly 10 cm spacing; on average 10 metres of cable per square metre. It turns around a drain down to a 30 mm bending radius; the fixing strip is included in the price.
EasyMat ready-made matting The same cable, factory-laid between industrial carrier tapes; supplied in 50 and 100 cm widths. To change direction you cut the tape — never the heating cable.
