Overview

The drum heating oven brings the raw material in drums and IBC tanks to the right viscosity before manufacture by heating it at a controlled temperature. The whole item of equipment is taken inside the oven: the heat is spread evenly over every surface by fan-assisted circulation, the temperature is held steady digitally, and the result repeats on every cycle.

The price does not rise in direct proportion to capacity — the body, the control system and the fan group are supplied once in every model.

Where it is used

Electric

Heats with its own element

It requires only electricity from the plant. The right choice for businesses with no steam boiler or thermal oil line, and for ovens to be sited away from the line. It is the simplest solution to install.

Steam / Thermal oil

Fed from your existing line

It takes heat from the steam boiler or thermal oil line already running in your plant. It adds no extra electrical load and lowers the operating cost markedly. If you have the line, it is more economical.

Selection guide

Jacket, cabinet or oven?

SolutionWhen it is rightIts limit
Heating jacketOne or two drums, the 60–70 °C band, an economical solutionA separate jacket and separate labour are needed for each drum
Base heating unitIf drums are changed frequently by forklift and maintaining fluidity is enoughIt heats only from the base; not enough for complete melting
Drum heating cabinetIf you need a single drum but with full control and high temperatureSingle-drum capacity
Drum heating ovenFour drums or more at a time, a repeatable cycle, above 70 °CIt requires a fixed installation and a supply line

Is this the right product?

A good fit when

  • If you are melting raw material in 4 drums or more at a time
  • If you need to take the raw material above 70 °C
  • If you want a repeatable result on every cycle

Not the right choice when

  • If you work with one or two drums — a heating jacket is more economical
  • If you only need to prevent freezing — a base heater is enough
  • It is not used for heating flammable substances directly

Installation

The drum heating oven is assembled and tested at our factory before dispatch. The work to be done on site is putting the body in position and making the supply connection.

Frequently asked questions

Why should I buy an oven rather than a jacket?
A jacket is right for businesses working with one or two items of equipment and melting in the 60–70 °C band. In a plant processing five, ten or twenty drums at a time, working with jackets costs labour and time. Where the temperature has to go above 70 °C, a jacket cannot be used.
Which is more economical, steam or electric?
If there is a steam boiler or thermal oil line running in the plant, the steam model lowers the operating cost markedly. If there is no such line, installing a boiler for this oven alone makes no sense; the electric model is the better choice.
Can I heat IBC tanks as well?
Yes. The models for 4 drums and above take the same volume in IBC tanks: 4 drums 1 IBC, 8 drums 2 IBC, 12 drums 3 IBC, 16 drums 4 IBC, 24 drums 6 IBC.
Is a capacity larger than 24 drums possible?
Our standard production goes up to 24 drums. Larger capacities — 32, 64 drums and above — are designed and built as hotboxes, in the form of a controlled climate room that a forklift can drive into. They are priced after a survey.
How long does the oven take to heat up?
The time varies with the type of raw material, the starting and target temperatures and the number of full drums. A typical melting cycle is a few hours. If you tell us your raw material and target temperature, we will calculate an estimated cycle time and send it with the quotation.
